Your Neighbourhood

As a councillor, I will listen to all members of the community about what is important in their neighbourhood. Below, you will find a list of issues that have been identified by residents across Sugarloaf. I am keeping track of these and if elected, I will investigate and take action on every single one of them. Please read through them and hit the ‘Add’ button if there’s anything else that matters to you in your neighbourhood.

  • “Reynolds Rd needs speed bumps!”
  • “I don’t feel safe driving down Research-Warrandyte Road.”
  • “Why are Council building a footpath on the service road at Research Industrial Estate? If that road gets any narrower, trucks won’t be able to deliver to my business.”
  • “Our facilities aren’t maintained properly in Research. The chicken shop wall is just an example of that.”
  • “No traffic lights at the end of Leane Drive!”
  • “Research was founded on mudbrick buildings. I don’t like seeing so many ugly new buildings going up.”
  • “We need more footpaths so we can get around Research on foot.”

  • “If we were here when a fire came through, we’d be dead. We need better refuges and better preparedness as a community.”
  • “Don’t let them build a helipad in Kangaroo Ground.”
  • “I live on a narrow road and we get so many huge trucks coming past at ridiculous speeds. Why is half of St Andrews a rat run?”
  • “We need a footpath through town to make St Andrews safer and more walkable.”
  • “We should install electronic speed limit signs outside the school so drivers always know what speed they should be doing as they drive by. They have them in Hurstbridge. Why not here?”
  • “Better road safety measures on market days.”
  • “Don’t let people move in and bulldoze our bush blocks.”
  • “Council needs to liaise better with VicRoads and communicate with the community about improving road safety here.”

  • “Bring back yearly hard garbage to stop illegal dumping. The current booking system is inefficient and annoying”
  • “We need more walking trails.”
